What would I be doing?

The Assistant Director of Marketing supports the Director and/or VP of Marketing in overseeing multi-property marketing initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include advertising, promotions and special events, entertainment, player development (casino and slots), and direct marketing efforts. This is a multi-property position designed as a developmental role, with future relocation required to assume a leadership position at a property in the Boyd portfolio. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Delivers superior internal and external guest service through Boyd Style.

 

  • Develop, prioritize and implement property marketing strategic plan, department goals and implementation strategies for projects throughout the year.
  • Create budget and monitor all expenses for all marketing resources.
  • Provide direction and guidance to various marketing departmental areas including casino, slots, entertainment, etc.
  • Help develop and implement programming with player development team to target the casino’s best customers.
  • Monitor competitor promotions, events, and trends to keep the casino’s offerings competitive.
  • Analyze guest feedback, market conditions, and industry trends to adjust marketing strategies.
  • Select, develop and manage all marketing managers and indirectly oversee all staff within each individual area.
  • Coordinate marketing support with all other operational departments.
  • Assist with the preparation & management for marketing budgets and monthly finance reviews.
  • Analyze and report on successfulness of events and evaluate ROI for individual marketing media and events.
  • Ensure that all promotions comply with gaming regulations and company policies.
  • Attend promotional and special events as needed.
  • Participate in regular shared services and revenue management discussions.

  • This position spends time on the gaming floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations
  • Ability to work in a drug free environment and pass a chemical dependency test as required

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

 

This knowledge and these skills are typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Hospitality, or related field, in addition to five years progressive gaming marketing, marketing/advertising and/or marketing related experience.

                               

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field preferred; a comparable amount of experience or combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Four (4) years of professional marketing experience in progressively responsible roles preferred.
  • Knowledge of all gaming regulations and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of all computer software and office systems.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications
  • This position requires relocation for future career advancement.
