What would I be doing?

The Surveillance Agent will protect the assets of Boyd Gaming by providing physical and video surveillance of the activities of Guests and Team Members in all gaming and money handling areas.  Report verbally and in writing any violations of MGC (Missouri Gaming Commission), company policy and procedures and any safety considerations to the appropriate supervisor or manager.  Reports any area of vulnerability to loss from internal or external sources. Maintains thorough knowledge of MGC Regulations, company policy and other department procedures. Maintains compliance with Surveillance Department procedures and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • The Surveillance Agent will observe, locate and record all irregularities that would jeopardize the assets
  • Maintain surveillance on designated areas and activities
  • The Surveillance Agent maintains surveillance close watch in designated area and activities
  • Maintains the strictest confidence of any and all confidential information disclosed by a Boyd Gaming entity or by a guest of Boyd Gaming
  • The Surveillance Agent maintains a positive attitude at all times
  • Continuously remain alert for any criminal activity such as theft or cheating
  • The Surveillance Agent will write detailed reports of all observations and log all communications
  • Operate electronic surveillance equipment
  • The Surveillance Agent will have a professional and investigative attitude
  • Trustworthy and honest
  • The Surveillance Agent will have independent judgment skills that are in the best interest of Boyd Gaming

What are we looking for?

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis) 

  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Professional and investigative attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills and strong time management skills
  • Knowledgeable in applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office
  • Background in surveillance desirable
  • Must have good organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively with independence and as part of a team
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Must have excellent visual acuity which is 20/20 or correctable to 20/20 and the ability to discern subtle color differences
  • Ability to maintain visual focus on various monitors for extended periods
  • High school diploma or certificate from educational institute preferred
  • Six months casino experience

 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  • Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
  • Must be 21 years of age
