Position Summary

 

Located just East of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino and Hotel is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone.  Ameristar Casino and Hotel has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, Kids Quest-an onsite childcare fun center and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safeguards the assets of the Company.
  • Stand at casino boarding entrances/exit to welcome guests and to ensure those under the age of 21 do not enter the casino floor.
  • Provide continuous patrol by foot and vehicle of the casino, hotel and surrounding areas owned by the casino, to determine any suspicious persons, vehicles and or minors entering the casino floor.  
  • Assist Supervisors with preparing detailed reports on any security related incidents occurring on company property.
  • Escort and transport funds for table fills slots and or banks. Provide security for money drops to include tables and slots. Provide escorts in sensitive areas for all non- gaming team members i.e.; maintenance, repair companies and or cleaning personnel.
  • Respond to disturbances and alarms and provide security for both guests and team members
  • Ensure compliance by all Team Members, Guests, and others on property, of all Codes of State Regulation, Minimum Internal Control Standards, Ameristar Internal Controls, Federal and State laws, and Company and Property policies and procedures.
  • Assist with mail runs.
  • Provide mobile assistance to guests and Team Members when necessary
  • Additional duties may include:
  1. Report Writing
  2. Card & Dice Inspection
  3. Dispatch

What are we looking for?

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Execellent guest relations skills.  
  • Must be able to lift at least twenty (20) pounds.
  • Acceptable to licensure by the Missouri Gaming Commission.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to communicate, understand and write in English. Bi-lingual a plus!
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to react quickly and accurately under demanding and high stress conditions.
  • Be willing to work under changing schedules to adjust for fluctuating business demands.

Required Behaviors

  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with team member and guests relations issues.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends in a fast paced environment 24/7 casino environment.
  • Ability to handle high stress situations with confidence and calm demeanor.

 

Required Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in guest service related field, preferred
