The Mutuel Clerk greets and interacts with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; sells wagers and cashes winning tickets; maintains, secures and balances all cash and cash equivalents; provides administrative support to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.

Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Belterra Park Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards (Look sharp, smile and greet the guest; Be friendly, polite and use courteous language; Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service and then some; Always find solutions to guests’ problems; Use the guest’s name when appropriate; Thank the guest and invite him or her back.); and work harmoniously with fellow team members.
Assumes responsibility for greeting and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; sells wagers and cashes winning tickets; and maintains, secures and balances all cash and cash equivalents.
Processes, cashes, redeem, verifies and sells pari-mutuel tickets for various types of bets; assists guests with questions and ticket redemption; and may explain wager techniques to guests in a neutral manner.
Handles and secures all money banks to ensure the proper balancing and transaction verification through the sales system; prepares and verifies all closing paperwork; corrects financial deficiencies as needed.
Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner; maintains the confidentiality of winning tickets to ensure guest privacy.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the fields of banking and cashiering.
Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED,
Six (6) months of cash handling
Racing experience a plus
Manual Calculation ability
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses.
Must successfully pass background check
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
Must be eighteen (18) years of age
Must be willing to work weekends nights, and holidays if needed.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Operations, services and activities of a customer service and cash handling operations; methods and techniques of cash handling and customer service; knowledge of thoroughbred racing; office procedures, methods and equipment including computer and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Collect, disburse and count various forms of monies; utilize a keyboard, 10-key and any other cashiering systems; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and explain policies and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.
